Nottingham Forest 'interested in' move for son of former Reds winger

Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in a move for Grimsby Town youngster Jock Curran.

The defensive midfielder featured on a number of occasions for Grimsby's reserve side last season after impressing for the club's academy.

Curran was released by Doncaster Rovers in 2017, but was quickly picked up by the Mariners and is said to have developed well over the last 12 months.

And now Sabri Lamouchi's side are keen to add him to their Under-23s set-up ahead of the new season, according to journalist Alan Biggs, who has worked with Curran's father Terry on South Yorkshire based show TalkingSheffield.

He also turned out for Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Everton and Grimsby amongst others during his 15-year playing career.

Should his son but pen to paper on a deal at the Nigel Doughty Academy then fans can expect to see him enter the club at youth level, with the teenager yet to make a first-team appearance during his young career.
