Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for French forward Guillaume Hoarau.
A striker is likely to be at the top of head coach Sabri Lamouchi’s shopping list come January, and, according to reports in Switzerland, the Reds have expressed an interest in the Young Boys front man.
The 35-year-old finished as top scorer in the Swiss top-flight last season as his club made it back-to-back titles, notching 27 goals in 33 appearances in both the league and Champions League.
Injury has hampered him this time around, with Hoarau finding the net once in 11 games for the league leaders, whose campaign got underway in July.
According to Swiss outlet Nau, the former France international’s advisor, Michel Urscheler, has confirmed: “Nottingham Forest is interested in Hoarau.”
The report adds “nothing has been signed yet”, with less than a month to go before the January window opens.
Hoarau signed for Young Boys in 2014 and has helped lead them to successive league titles.
He has previously played for French sides Bordeaux, Paris Saint-Germain, Gueugnon and Le Havre, as well as Dalian Aerbin in China.
In total, he has racked up 116 goals in 176 matches for the Swiss side, weighing in with 35 assists.
