Former Nottingham Forest favourite signs for A-League side

Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Radi Majewski will join Australian side Western Sydney Wanderers later on this year.

The 32-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the A-League side, whose season begins in October.

Majewski made 162 appearances for the Reds, signing initially on loan from Polonia Warsaw a decade ago before joining permanently and staying for five years.

He notched 19 goals during his time on Trentside, netting a memorable long-range strike against rivals Derby County in the first minute of a 3-2 win at the City Ground in August 2009.

Upon his departure from Forest, the nine-cap Polish international signed for Greek side Veria before returning to his homeland for stints with Lech Poznan and Pogon Szczecin.

He will depart Poznan when his contract expires later on this month.

"I can’t wait to see Australia and I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Western Sydney Wanderers," he said.

“I spoke with the coach and I am very excited about his way of work.

“I look forward to seeing you all and I can’t wait for this new challenge with the Red & Black.”
