Nottingham Forest are said to have a “strong chance” of signing Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old shot-stopper this summer – and it is claimed the player will soon make a decision about his future.
The Sun report Muric is “about to pick his loan club”, adding that while Championship rivals Preston North End are still a potential option, Martin O’Neill’s side have a “strong chance” of clinching his signature.
Earlier this month, Forest boss O’Neill and goalkeeping coach Seamus McDonagh were spotted watching a European Championships qualifier between Bulgaria and Kosovo – and Muric was between the posts for the latter.
The youngster played the full 90 minutes as he helped his country secure a 3-2 victory in Sofia.
Muric made six appearances for City last season, having been recalled early from a loan at NAC Breda, though has yet to make his Premier League debut for Pep Guardiola’s team.

It is said the Sky Blues are keen for him to go out on loan again to gain more experience, as the return of Claudio Bravo from injury would push him back down the pecking order.
Costel Pantilimon was first-choice for the Reds last term and racked up 15 clean-sheets in the Championship.
Luke Steele provided back-up for the Romanian and was given a chance to impress O’Neill towards the end of the campaign, while fellow custodian Jordan Smith is back at the City Ground after a loan spell at Mansfield Town.
Muric made the move to City from Grasshopper Club Zurich in 2015.
