Nottingham Forest have reportedly had a bid rejected for LB Chateauroux defender Christopher Operi.
The Reds have made six summer signings so far, and are close to a seventh as Loic Mbe Soh is expected to join from PSG.
But with January addition Gaetan Bong not included on the list of this season’s squad numbers, head coach Sabri Lamouchi is likely to need cover at left-back.

And French outlet La Nouvelle Republique say Operi is on Forest’s radar, after seemingly missing out on “first-choice” recruit Nicholas Ioannou, from APOEL Nicosia.
They claim Operi is likely to leave the Ligue 2 club this summer, with “great interest” from Trentside.
“We know that Nottingham Forest made a first offer to La Berrichonne, which (was) rejected because it did not meet its financial expectations,” the report states.
However, it is said fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club Olympiacos could also be an option for the 23-year-old, if they are unable to secure the signature of Rio Ave left-back Matheus Reis.
The links to both teams of Jose Anigo and Francois Modesto - head of international recruitment and technical director at the City Ground - respectively - make Olympiacos a possibility for Operi, it is said.
If he does head to Greece, the defender “could then be loaned” to Forest.
