Nottingham Forest handed huge boost over Nahki Wells transfer - reports

Burnley are ready to recall Nahki Wells from QPR if a competitive bid comes in for the striker, according to reports.

The 29-year-old is thought to be a transfer target for Sabri Lamouchi, who is keen at bring in support for Lewis Grabban in Forest’s promotion bid.

Reports in the national press say Forest have made an initial approach to Burnley over a permanent move to bring Wells to the City Ground.

Wells is the top scorer for QPR this season, boasting an impressive record of 14 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Burnley have an option to recall the forward from his season-long loan stint at Loftus Road as part of the agreement they struck with the Rs in August.

In a boost to Forest’s hopes of landing Wells, West London Sport reports that Burnley are expected to do so if a substantial offer is tabled.

The report adds that QPR are planning to open talks about keeping the Bermuda international at the club, but are likely to be out-gunned by other potential suitors because of Financial Fair Play rules.

Wells is out of contract in the summer but Burnley have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
