Nottingham Forest handed boost in their bid to sign Sam Byram from West Ham

Nottingham Forest have potentially been handed a boost in their bid to sign Sam Byram.

That is because the Evening Standard report Byram is one of a group of players who will be allowed to leave West Ham this summer.

Forest are keen to bring Byram back to the club after he impressed in the latter weeks of his spell, once he had recovered from a serious knee injury.

Byram has returned to the Premier League club, but Pablo Zabaleta has since signed a one-year contract extension with Ryan Fredericks also competing to be the first choice right back.

The Daily Express had recently said Byram would be allowed to go and that stance has now been echoed with Lucas Perez, Pedro Obiang, Reece Oxford, and Jordan Hugill all put up for sale.

Oxford has previously been linked with a move to the City Ground.
