Nottingham Forest handed boost in striker pursuit

There's been an update in Nottingham Forest's search for a striker

Reported transfer target Nahki Wells has today been recalled by his parent club Burnley so that the Clarets can determine the 'striker's future.'

The on-loan Burnley striker has been linked with a £5m move to  Nottingham Forest, with Sabri Lamouchi desperate for reinforcements in attack to help the Reds’ promotion bid.

"Nahki Wells has returned to Turf Moor after the Clarets re-called him from his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers," reads a statement from Burnley.

"The Clarets exercised their option to curtail the loan agreement and have brought Wells back to determine the striker’s long-term future."

QPR boss Mark Warburton had hoped that Wells’ progress at QPR would count in their favour when it came to keeping the striker.

“I know Sean [Dyche] exceptionally well and we've kept in touch and vice versa,” Warburton told the media after Friday’s outing.

"They're happy with their loan players' progress, we're happy with the loan players' progress and Nahki is very happy at QPR so that's all I know at the moment."

However, it seems like Wells played himself into the shop window with his 13 Championship goals for Queens Park Rangers, and now looks set for a permanent move away from the club.
