Former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper tipped to join Championship rivals as opponents are confirmed

Ex-Forest keeper set to join Championship rivals

Rotherham United are favourites to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Aro Muric, according to reports.

The Kosovo international goalkeeper spent the first half of the Championship season on loan at Nottingham Forest, but made just five appearances before returning to the Etihad Stadium in January.

Following the Millers’ return to the second tier this season, boss Paul Warne is keen to strengthen his squad, and a move for Muric is on the cards, according to the Sun.

Despite being given blessing to move to the City Ground from boss Pep Guardiola, Muric found himself relegated to number two following the arrival of Brice Samba, and then fell behind Jordan Smith in the pecking order before returning to the Premier League club.

Reds learn Championship opponents

Forest will take on Watford and Bournemouth next season as equals after the pair were relegated on a dramatic Premier League final day that saw Aston Villa narrowly survive.

The pair will follow Norwich City into the Championship with Coventry City, Rotherham Untied and Wycombe Wanderers entering from League One.

There is still one final spot to be decided in the second division with Swansea City, Cardiff, Brentford and Fulham set to do battle in the play-offs over the coming weeks.

But only one will win promotion to the top flight with the other missing out.

So, now that the Premier League is done and dusted, HERE IS HOW the Championship will look for Forest next season.

Forest blew it and here's why, says Sky Sports pundit

Forest were doing things against Stoke City that they would never have done had the nerves not gotten to them.

That's according to Sky Sports presenter and former Potters man Chris Karmara who was at the City Ground as Sabri Lamouchi's side saw their Premier League dreams come crumbling down on Wednesday night.

The 62-year-old says he could visible see Forest's star players playing without any belief that they would finish inside the top six as Stoke put four past them, demoting them to seventh on the final day.

Speaking to EFL, Kamara said: "When I was designated the Forest game the producer said to me: 'Do you think there's still something in this?' and told him no, I could not see Forest conceding four goals."
