Nottingham Forest given transfer advice as dig aimed at Chris Hughton’s side

Forest given transfer advice

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has said that Chris Hughton should target attacking areas in the upcoming January transfer window.

Forest have had a disappointing start to the season and fell to their fourth loss in five games on Saturday as they lost 2-0 against Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

The match was also Forest’s fifth without a goal and leaves Hughton’s men in 21st position in the Championship table.

And Allardyce said that the club need to target more attacking players in January should they wish to turn their season around.

Dig aimed at Forest

Watford striker Troy Deeney has claimed that his side have been ‘old manned’ during their last two Championship games against Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City.

Forest hosted the Hornets at the City ground last Wednesday, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw, a point which ended Foret’s run of three losses in a row.

Following that defeat, Deeney said that his team must do better in situations against teams that are ‘horrible to play against’, referencing both the game against Cardiff and the clash vs Forest.

“I thought we got old-manned and by that I mean there were old professionals going down, making it difficult and being horrible to play against,” he said after the Cardiff loss (via HiveLive ).

Hughton on Reading loss

Forest fell to defeat against Reading on Saturday as they went a fifth game without a win and without scoring.

Goals from Lucas Joao and Michael Morrison meant that the Royals took all three points from the game.

And Hughton had his say as he spoke to the press following the full-time whistle.
