Nottingham Forest give advice to Reds fans in Greece ahead of Olympiacos friendly

Nottingham Forest have issued a message to supporters who are attending this evening’s friendly against Olympiacos.

The Reds are in Greece for a pre-season training camp and will take on the fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium (9.30pm KO local time, 7.30pm UK).

It will be their fourth match of the summer – the third since Sabri Lamouchi took charge – following wins over Atromitos and Alfreton Town, and a 0-0 draw with Dundee.

A large number of Forest fans are expected to turn out for the clash in Athens, and supporters are advised to stay in the city centre in the build-up, before making their way to the ground in time for kick-off.

A message from the club said: “It is fantastic to see so many Forest fans out in Greece supporting the team during their pre-season tour.

“With large numbers expected to travel to the Karaiskakis Stadium to watch Forest take on Greek giants Olympiacos, we would like to remind supporters to respect the culture of the Greek people and behave accordingly.

“As with many European cities the rituals and customary behaviour can be very different to what we know in the UK. With this in mind we urge supporters attending the match to be mindful of this and to respect the city of Athens and its residents.

“The players and everyone connected to the club are very proud of our away support and we hope to again have a strong following throughout our 2019-20 campaign away from the City Ground.”
