Nottingham Forest forward Zach Clough linked with loan move to Oldham Athletic

Nottingham Forest outcast Zach Clough has been linked with a move to Oldham Athletic.

The forward's career has stalled badly since an initially bright start at the City Ground with a pair of loan spells at Rochdale impacted by injury.

Clough also had a stint back on loan at former club Bolton Wanderers, but failed to make an impact. As such, he appears to be well down the pecking order at Forest, although new head coach Sabri Lamouchi is yet to assess his squad fully.

Clough, 24, was a £2.5m signing from Bolton in January 2017. Now a loan move to League Two side Oldham is a possibility as he looks to get his career back on track.

The Sun on Sunday say the Latics are keen to take him, although completing a deal will be a challenge.

Clough scored five goals in his first 14 games after moving to the City Ground, but lost his place to Kieran Dowell in the 2017/18 season and has not found a way back into the starting XI on a regular basis since.

His last goal came on loan at Bolton in February 2018.
