Nottingham Forest forward set for move to 'revive' his career - report

Nottingham Forest forward Nuno Da Costa has been linked with a move to Belgium, ahead of the international transfer window closing.

The 29-year-old only made the move to the City Ground in January, from Strasbourg, but has struggled to make an impact for the Reds.

And now Belgian outlet DH say he is expected to join Royal Excel Mouscron on loan, with an option for the club to buy.

Da Costa has largely been confined to a substitutes’ role for Forest, making seven of his 13 appearances from off the bench.

He has failed to find the back of the net in the Garibaldi, other than an own goal on the final day of last season in the 4-1 capitulation to Stoke City.

This term, he has started against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup and in the league defeat at QPR, and came on in the second half of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bristol City.

He has often been deployed on the wing, amid competition with Lewis Grabban and summer signings Lyle Taylor and Miguel Angel Guerrero to play up front.

DH say Da Costa’s move should be “formalised in the early afternoon” as the striker “wants to revive” his career in Belgium.

He could be one of several departures from Trentside, as the club look to trim a bloated squad.
