Nottingham Forest forgotten man could secure January transfer after Steve Cooper comments

Nottingham Forest loanee Loïc Badé is reportedly a player attracting interest from Italian side Salernitana ahead of the January transfer window.

After joining the Reds on a season-long loan from French club Stade Rennais during transfer deadline day, the central defender has yet to make a single appearance for the club; featuring as an unused substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers in mid-October was the closest Badé came to making his Forest bow.

It was reported last month that the player was 'down in the dumps' after making the move, with a 'surprising' return to Rennes touted as a possibility. The last time that the 22-year-old played competitively was way back in August while still in France for his parent club against Ajaccio, assisting his side's winner.

Naples-based Italian daily newspaper Il Mattino (via Salernitana News, translated into English by Sport Witness) claims that the player could be on the move again in January and is a name in the notebook of Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis, with a central defender one of their priority positions to recruit during the winter window.

Forest head coach Steve Cooper told NottinghamshireLive in mid-October that Badé would have to bide his time before debuting. Those comments came just days before the player was named on the bench against Wolves, but he has not been named in a matchday squad of any sort since.

What do you make of the move to bring Badé in? Have your say in the comments...
