Nottingham Forest flop Nicklas Bendtner claims he is being forced out at Rosenborg

Former Nottingham Forest star Nicklas Bendtner is being forced out at Rosenborg, despite scoring 24 goals in 57 league games.

The Danish striker returned to his home county to join the multiple league winners following his City Ground release in 2017, and had been in hot scoring form in recent times.

During his debut season at the Lerkendal Stadium, Bendtner scored 23 goals, including three in the Europa League.

But the following year the 31-year-old managed just five goals and soon found himself fighting for a spot in the stating line up.

And now Rosenborg boss Eirik Horneland has told the media ahead of this week's cup clash with lower league Ullensaker that the controversial forward may well have played his final game for the club.

"I don't understand," Bendtner told Eurosport.

"I'm in good shape and working hard. I haven't talked to the coach so I don't know why I'm not playing. All questions should be for the coach."

The ex-Arsenal man scored just twice during his time at the City Ground .

He will perhaps be remembered by Reds fans best for scoring a bizarre East Midlands derby own goal at Pride Park.
