Nottingham Forest fans will love what Brice Samba had to say about Reds supporters

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba has hailed the support he has received from Reds fans following his move to the City Ground.

Samba joined Forest last summer from French club Caen, and has gone on to become the club’s first-choice keeper this season.

The Reds also signed Aro Muric on loan from Manchester City, but Samba has established himself as the main figure between the sticks under manager Sabri Lamouchi.

So far this season, Samba has made 35 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, keeping 14 clean sheets with 12 of those coming in the Championship, second only to Leeds United’s Kiko Casilla who has recorded 15 this term.

Samba has also seven yellow cards, second only to midfielder Ben Watson on Trentside.

The 25-year-old has declared his “love” for the Reds fan base, and has says he felt the connection with the supporters the moment he arrived on Trentside.

“From the beginning, I had such a warn welcome from the fans,” said Samba, in Forest’s programme for the Championship clash against Millwall.

He added: “I think the supporters have understood who I am, I am a winner and I am a fighter - you can see that from the amount of yellow cards I have taken!

“I appreciate this relationship because I think they have understood who I am and how I want to play.

“I am a winner, a fighter and I think they love that and I love the fans.”
