Nottingham Forest fans urged to renew season cards early as Reds boss faces selection challenges

Season card renewals

Bumper crowds have been a regular feature at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground this season.

Saturday’s clash with QPR will be the fifth sell-out of the campaign, while the Reds have the second highest average attendance of the division.

All that without a glimpse of top-flight football on the banks of the Trent for more than two decades.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are battling to change that next term, currently sitting fifth in the table.

And should they achieve promotion, demand to watch Forest is only likely to increase - a situation which could coincide with reduced capacity at the stadium, should a planning application for redevelopment get the green light.

Improved experience

Nottingham Forest have made it a priority to “improve the fan experience” of buying tickets to watch the Reds in action.

And they have incorporated that into season card renewals for next term.

Supporters in the Trent End, Brian Clough Stand and Bridgford Stand have until March 16 to sign up again for 2020/21, with an exclusive window for those in the Peter Taylor Stand to follow as the club wait for approval for the planned redevelopment.

Forest say they are eager to make the renewal process as simple as possible, and as well as a new ticketing system being in place, a finance option has now been finalised.

Baggies' thoughts

West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has provided further reflections on his side’s draw with Nottingham Forest.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw with the Baggies in their Sky Bet Championship clash last week.

Sheffield United loanee Callum Robinson opened the scoring for the Baggies, before a Kyle Bartley own goal just prior to half time gifted Forest a deserved equaliser.

Tobias Figueiredo then handed Albion a lead with an own goal of his own, but there was more drama as Matty Cash bagged a late equaliser for Sabri Lamouchi’s side at The Hawthorns.

Selection challenges

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has spoken about the challenges of a packed Championship schedule when it comes to making his team selections.

The Frenchman says he will “play all the time with the best XI players”, but admits that can be difficult when the games come thick and fast.

Last week’s midweek defeat to Charlton Athletic saw the Reds head coach reflect on a “mistake” after making five changes to his side - albeit three of those were enforced.

The quintet who missed out - Matty Cash, Yuri Ribeiro, Samba Sow, Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban - all returned for Saturday’s 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
