Nottingham Forest fans sent Steve Cooper message by Simon Jordan

Nottingham Forest fans have been sent a reassuring message from Simon Jordan that the club are in "better nick" than they have for some time now that Steve Cooper is the head coach.

Jordan has drawn parallels between this appointment and that of former Reds boss and current Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton.

The QPR boss arrived at the Reds in March 2017 but failed to see out the year after being sacked on New Year's Eve after just 37 matches in charge. However, Warburton has gone on to have success in West London, with his current employers sitting eighth in the Championship.

The talkSPORT pundit was taking a call from a Forest fan called "Ashley" alongside his co-host Jim White and moved to hearten the supporter about the announcement of Cooper at the City Ground.

"You've got a guy whose career is in the ascendancy," former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan stated on 'White & Jordan'.

"He's gone to Swansea, worked under difficult conditions, is at the front end of his career, not the middle or backend of his career, not living on past glories or ambitions that once upon a time he was a Nottingham Forest player.

"You've got a real guy here at the front of his career, so he's got the chops and the energy, perhaps, and the balls to push the envelope.

"Of all the managers except Mark Warburton, you've probably got the first manager in a long time that's got the real energy to push the club forward and a real nous.

"So I think you're in better nick than you've been for some time."
