Nottingham Forest fans pile in after Lewis Grabban's contract revelation

Nottingham Forest fans are keen for striker Lewis Grabban to sign a new contract with the club.

Grabban is out of contract this summer and, despite not having held talks with Forest over an extension yet, would love to stay for “as long as” he can.

The 33-year-old has been in goalscoring form as of late after finding the back of the net three times in the last two games before the November international break to take his tally in the Championship to eight, six of which have come since Steve Cooper replaced Chris Hughton at the City Ground.

Here is the best of the reaction from our Forest Facebook page and elsewhere to Grabban's comments.

Jamie Allan: Can’t not love this man

Alan Sweeney: Feed Grabbs and he will score.

Alan Nash: We do need another option up front but it would be good if he stays

Andrew Parker: Give him a year with an option of another

Robert Norton: Now he's enjoying his football again I would like to see him given another year.

Martin Norton: Has to be signed up. No brainer.

Goalscorers are hard to come by in this league

John Bentley: Sign this

thosewerethedays: I think Grabbs should be offered a further two year deal as he looks so much better playing under Cooper.

Redisthecolour: Even 2 months ago, I'd have said no, but now thinking that despite him turning 34 in 6 weeks, he should be offered another year.

Of course, from January 1st he's entitled to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. We can't have that.

We need him focused on playing here, not trying to not get injured because another club wants him.

Thomas Newton: Forest get this done! To replace Lewis adequately is going to cost a few quid.

Whilst he’s ours and scoring goals, it’s a no brainer to keep him. I have said this on our latest podcast
