Nottingham Forest fans pay tribute to Peter Taylor on poignant anniversary

Tributes have been paid to the Nottingham Forest legend Peter Taylor on the 31st anniversary of his death.

Taylor, who passed away aged 62 on 4 October 1990, was Brian Clough's right-hand man during the Reds' most successful period in their history, winning two European Cups, the First Division title, two League Cups and the European Super Cup.

The pair sadly fell out during Taylor's time as manager of arch rivals Derby County.

Three decades on from Taylor's passing, Forest fans have not forgotten the impact he had on the club, posting their tributes to the late, great football man on Twitter.

One supporter wrote that Taylor was "the forgotten hero. The backbone to Brian's mastery. Rest easy, Peter", while another said that he was a "massively important figure who helped to provide our wonderful football club with unimaginable success."

It doesn't hurt his legendary status one bit that he was a Nottingham native who helped drive his local team to glory.

"He did ok for a lad from the Meadows & discovered a few good players on his travels around Nottingham," tweeted a third Forest fan. "A true gentleman with a wickedly dry sense of humour."
