Nottingham Forest fans 'need a reason to believe right management team is in place' after third straight defeat

It was another disappointing afternoon for Nottingham Forest as they fell to a third straight defeat, losing 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers.

Martin O’Neill’s side found themselves a goal down at the break, before conceding again soon after the restart.

Ryan Yates pulled one back with 52 minutes gone, but they could not find an equaliser at the City Ground, with the players walking off to boos from the crowd at the final whistle.

Reds reporter Paul Taylor gives his verdict on the Championship clash in our latest Forest video.

Boss O’Neill had made two changes from the side which had been beaten by Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, bringing back Costel Pantilimon in goal and Pele into the midfield.

It was a largely uninspiring, flat performance from the hosts, though.

They found themselves with a difficult task on their hands when they went 1-0 down just before the half hour mark, as Joe Rothwell curled an effort beyond Pantilimon.

It was then 2-0 just a few minutes into the second half when Danny Graham fired in from close range.

After Yates had reduced the deficit, Matty Cash had a great chance to equalise when latching on to Sam Byram’s cross, but could only head over the bar.

And although Joe Lolley wasn’t too far away with a looping effort towards the end, there was to be no comeback for the Reds.

With four games of the season left to play, they are left in 11th spot in the table, going into next Friday’s match at Sheffield United.
