Nottingham Forest fans make 'ideal' statement over fresh transfer link

Nottingham Forest fans have mixed views over the latest name to be linked with a move to the City Ground this January.

The Reds are reportedly keen to sign a forward with 20-year-old Adam Idah understood to be on Forest's radar, according to The Sun.

The addition of another striker would add competition and goals to their existing options of Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor but push youngsters Dale Taylor and Will Swan further down the pecking order.

As per The Sun, the Reds are "favourites" to sign Idah from Norwich City on a loan deal with Steve Cooper 's side at the "front of the queue".

Idah, who scored in a 3-3 draw between Forest and Norwich City's under-23s in February 2019, has made nine appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Last season he scored three goals in 17 Championship matches as the Canaries eased to promotion to the top-flight.

The young striker's experience in the Championship - as well as his experience of winning promotion - could be a key attraction for Cooper given his ambitions at the City Ground.

Forest have also been linked with a move for former Liverpool and Swansea City striker Rhian Brewster, but the Sheffield United front-man has recently played down speculation of a move to the Midlands.

Reds fans, however, seem moderately pleased with the news that Idah is on Forest's radar. Here's what some said on social media...

@Grantnffc1: Physical, mobile and can score goals. Adam Idah would be an ideal addition to add competition at CF.

@Gavinthered78: Came on against Newcastle in mid-week and looked useful. Sure would be a good option in the Championship.

@wards_2004: Why would we sign a striker that doesn't score? Loaning someone like this makes no sense, just give Dale Taylor a go.

@Gl3nnC77: Idah would be a great signing. Fast, hungry and energetic. With a run of games under his belt he could rip the Championship up in the second half of the season.

@TalkForest1: I've watched him a few times and each time he's been okay... Premier League level though so hopefully a Championship loan could do him the world of good.
