Nottingham Forest fans have their say on Reds' retained list

Nottingham Forest fans have taken to social media to have their say on the club’s retained list.

Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson and attacker Jamie Ward Confirmed: Ward and Henderson depart as Nottingham Forest announce retained list at the end of their contracts, while a number of youth-team players have also been let go.

Loanees Sam Byram, Jack Colback, Diogo Goncalves, Saidy Janko, Pele, Molla Wague and Leo Bonatini have all returned to their parent sides.

It leaves the Reds currently with a first-team squad of 32 players, including the likes of Zach Clough, Jason Cummings, Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Apostolos Vellios who have all been on loan elsewhere.

Under-23 players Liam Bossin, Joe Coveney, Adam Crookes, Josef Hefele, Alex Iacovitti and Rudolfs Soloha have been moved on, with Samuel Greenwood the only Under-18s squad member to be released.

Joshua Barnes, Max Ram and Will Swan - all part of the Under-18s set-up - have been offered professional contracts.

And Academy players Yassine En-Neyah, Owen Gallacher, Kieran Hayes, Ethan Stewart, Jake Taylor and Jordan Wright also have deals on the table.

Changes are expected to the first-team squad over the summer as Forest boss Martin O’Neill has spoken of his plan to cut numbers, as well as bring in his own targets.

And Reds supporters have been discussing this first bit of transfer news as they look ahead to the window opening.
