Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura has been named in the team of the tournament for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Algerian has been in superb form for his country as they rounded off the competition in style, beating Senegal 1-0 to lift the trophy on Friday night.
Guedioura played a key role throughout the cup, making six appearances in total, including playing the full 90 minutes of the final.
And he has been named in the AFCON 2019 best XI, along with teammate Riyad Mahrez.
The team of the tournament is made up of: Rais M’Bolhi (Algeria), Lamine Gassama (Senegal), Yassine Meriah (Tunisia), Youssouf Sabaly (Senegal), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal), Adlene Guedioura (Algeria), Idrissa Gana Gueye (Senegal), Ismael Bennacer (Algeria), Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Sadio Mane (Senegal) and Odion Ighalo (Nigeria).
Reds man Guedioura spoke of his delight at getting his hands on the silverware, saying: “I think we deserved this cup. We have been exemplary.
“We are really happy and we are going to enjoy it.
“I want to thank all the fans who came here, the Algerian fans all over the world and everyone who has supported us.
“It has been a great Africa Cup of Nations.”
And plenty of Forest fans are hoping he will get the chance to show the same kind of form in the Garibaldi under new head coach Sabri Lamouchi, having struggled for game time towards the end of last term.
