Nottingham Forest fans debate free agent after Sheffield Wednesday release 10 players

Nottingham Forest fans have been taking in the Sheffield Wednesday retained list with interest after the relegated side released 10 players.

Joost van Aken, Kadeem Harris, Elias Kachunga, Tom Lees, Matt Penney, Moses Odubajo, Joey Pelupessy, Adam Reach, Jordan Rhodes and Keiren Westwood will all leave the club following the expiry of their deals next month. Defender van Aken has already agreed a deal to join Belgium club Zulte Waragem while striker Rhodes is on the brink of joining Huddersfield Town

The Owls have taken up their one-year contract extensions on Ciaran Brennan, Alex Hunt and former Forest loan signing Sam Hutchinson.

Reach was the player most debated by Forest fans with the club out for fresh attacking options. The 28-year-old scored 24 goals and more than 200 appearances after a £5m move from Middlesbrough in 2016.

Here's a look at what Forest fans said about him on Twitter.

Tom Scott: Wouldn’t mind seeing Adam Reach in an #nffc shirt next season!

Chris Kearney: Pleaseeee nobody mention Adam Reach. If you mention Kieran Westwood it counts as 2 strikes towards a block.

Ben Sykes: God no. Scores a worldie twice a season

Damien Treece: Yes (to Reach), but curveball....to convert to a LB/LWB role. Change of scenery and fresh challenge could do wonders for his outlook.

Peter Blackburn: He's all about the spectacular and not much else. I think he'd be a really poor signing, to be honest. Just stands out because of those odd worldies.

Garry Houseley: I know the wendies went down but there’s a couple decent frees on there Lees. Rhodes, Westwood, Harris

CityGroundCamel: I’d take Reach. Think he was there best player for the last few years. Very versatile too. Still think he has a few years at this level to offer

Rob Thacker: No thanks, mighten, johnson, lolley and give ameobi another year.

Andrew Chester: I think the odd wonder-goal clouds people's views on Reach. Wednesday have admittedly struggled this season, but he has been fairly poor every time I've seen them - particularly in the match at Derby
