Nottingham Forest fans all say the same thing about 'disgusting' fixture change

Sky Sports’ latest picks for live TV coverage have not gone down well with Nottingham Forest fans.

In addition to the kick-off time for the Reds’ East Midlands grudge match with arch-rivals Derby County being changed, there is a rearranged date for a trip to Cardiff City.

The game with the Bluebirds was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 29.

Now set to be shown live on television, it will instead take place on Sunday, January 30, with a 4pm kick-off - a switch which makes it difficult for Reds supporters planning to make the long journey.

It could be particularly tough for those considering public transport, with train services, in particular, notoriously infrequent on Sundays.

And it could mean getting back at a late hour ahead of a Monday morning return to work for some.

Supporters’ group Forza Garibaldi said on Twitter: “Sky will rightly get much of the ire but is there anyone within our club who realises or cares 4pm on a Sunday in South Wales is pretty awful for most supporters?

“Do they speak up? Are they able to? Why are match-going fans constantly the ones who pay the price for TV choices?

“We’ve gone from 18 months of being told how much we are missed during behind closed doors games to the same old contempt being displayed once again for supporters across the country.

“And sadly we let it happen.”

Others also chipped in and had their say.

@Andy_midd84: About time clubs stood up to sky and stopped these ridiculous changes. Sunday afternoon going to Cardiff. As a fan that has a season ticket & goes to as many away games as possible is disgusting

@PaulWalford9: I hope there is a train back to Nottingham for the Cardiff game. Totally inconsiderate by Sky again…

@Hombre1977: Only got tickets for the Boxing at Cardiff on the Saturday night and now they have moved the game! Wouldn’t be so bad if they made it a 12.30om-2pm KO.

@rbikysx: Makes the Cardiff game quite hard to do

@AshRossDavis1: Derby was always gonna happen. But that Cardiff game is a farce

The other fixture change sees Forest’s meeting with the Rams at the City Ground brought forward to a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, January 22.
