Nottingham Forest face one major problem in Harry Arter transfer - reports

Nottingham Forest's hopes of signing Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter this summer have taken a blow, according to reports.

Arter has spent the last two seasons on loan deals away from the Vitality Stadium, but was named in the starting lineup for the Cherries' Carabao Cup victory against Crystal Palace last week.

There have been reports that Fores t are interested in a permanent move for the 30-year-old, who has one year remaining on his deal at Bournemouth.

However, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the player's wages could be a major stumbling block to any move to the City Ground this summer.

However, there could be one solution to the problem, with Olympiacos's interest in Tiago Silva possibly freeing up extra funds for Sabri Lamouchi.

It is claimed that the Greek giants are interested in the midfielder, with a deal made easier due to Evangelos Marinakis owning both clubs.

Should that move happen, then it could make a transfer for Arter easier for Forest ahead of the end of the transfer window.

The club have already seen eight new faces arrive this summer with Jack Colback, Lyle Taylor, Tyler Blackett, Fouad Bachirou, Luke Freeman, Miguel Angel Gurrero, Loic Mbe Soh and Abdoulaye Diallo all signing.

Arter has made a total of 255 appearances for Bournemouth, scoring 29 goals and providing a further 20 assists.
