Nottingham Forest face more frustration after targeting Strasbourg striker - report

Nottingham Forest have reportedly suffered yet more frustration in the transfer market, as they look to bolster their attacking options to aid their Premier League promotion push.

The Reds are said to have targeted Strasbourg striker Nuno Da Costa only to see the Cape Verde international suffer a knee problem which would appear to have scuppered any hopes of a deal, according to French newspaper Dernieres Nouvelles D’Alsace.

Da Costa, 28, who scored eight times last term but only once in Ligue 1 this came close to signing for top flight strugglers Dijon earlier this season, though that deal fell through and he remained with Racing Club.

His last outing came in the 2-1 win over St-Etienne just before Christmas.

Forest remain keen to add firepower to their squad before the window closes in just over two weeks, and now have just Lewis Grabban as their only recognised senior forward.

Loan flop Rafa Mir saw his stint at the City Ground ended before heading back to parent club Wolves this week – he’s now joined Spanish outfit Huesca on a long-term loan deal.

They’ve held talks with Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah, but he’s staying in north London, while deals for Dwight Gayle and Che Adams look unlikely and Glenn Murray remains on their shortlist.

Tyler Walker, who scored his 16th of the season in Tuesday night's 5-1 thumping of Bolton could be recalled, if the Reds are unable to bolster their attacking ranks in the transfer market.
