Nottingham Forest face huge James Garner battle as talks held with Manchester United director

James Garner's agent has spoken about the Manchester United midfielder's future, as he continues to shine on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The 20-year-old has been a big hit at the City Ground since arriving from Old Trafford in January.

He has produced a string of excellent performances for Chris Hughton's side, and fired Forest to a 1-0 win over Cardiff City in the Championship on Good Friday.

It was his second goal for the club, after he scored in the 1-1 draw with Derby back in February.

Forest will likely attempt to bring him back to the City Ground on loan next season, and Garner's agent, Steven Beck, expects clubs to be queuing up to sign him should Manchester United allow him to leave on loan again.

“Third loan? – I honestly don’t know,” admitted Beck.

“I had a couple of chats with John Murtough last week, but I’m so relaxed on the situation, as is James because things are going so well for him.

"James has put himself in a great position where he’s probably going to have, if he does go out on loan again, the majority of the Championship and I would be amazed if one or two Premier League clubs don’t try and do something.

“I know Brighton like him, I know Norwich like him.…I know Rangers are really keen on him as well.”

'What a player'

James Garner's latest top drawer performance for Nottingham Forest caught the attention of Manchester United's Mason Greenwood.

Midfielder Garner scored to inspire the Reds to a 1-0 win against Cardiff City in the Championship on Good Friday.

It was the second goal of his impressive loan at the City Ground from Old Trafford, after he scored in the 1-1 draw with Derby County back in February.

And Greenwood responded to Forest's tweet about Garner's goal against Cardiff by writing: "What a player".
