Nottingham Forest could be forced to sell defensive duo Matty Cash and Joe Worrall if they fail to get promoted, according to a report.
The pair have attracted top-flight interest in the past, while Cash was also on the radar of Italian giants AC Milan in January.
And Football Insider claim the Reds face “having to cash in on the star duo this summer to raise revenues slashed by the coronavirus pandemic”.
Cash and Worrall have been in outstanding form for Sabri Lamouchi’s side this season, playing key roles in a back line which has helped Forest climb to fifth in the Championship table.
That promotion push has been placed on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with games suspended indefinitely and clubs across the country feeling the financial pinch.
The report adds: “A Forest source has told Football Insider that Cash and Worrall are regarded as two prize assets able to each secure eight-figure fees.”
The Nigel Doughty Academy products have both featured regularly for Lamouchi.
After returning from a loan spell at Rangers last term, Worrall has racked up 39 appearances and scored one goal.
