Nottingham Forest face fight to hold on to star man as fresh transfer link emerges

Nottingham Forest could face a fight to hold on to star defender Joe Worrall in the summer.

Burnley are long-term admirers of the centre-back, but it seems they are not the only ones to have their eye on him.

Worrall has been one of the Reds’ standout players this season since returning from injury.

And The Sun claim his form has caught the attention of West Bromwich Albion.

They say the Baggies “are plotting a summer move” for the Nigel Doughty Academy graduate “whether they stay up or not”.

The report says: “Baggies technical and sporting director Luke Dowling watched the centre-back in action during Forest’s win at Wycombe on Saturday.”

Worrall played a key role in helping the visitors keep a clean-sheet at Adams Park at the weekend, putting in another solid display alongside Tobias Figueiredo.

He has been a regular under boss Chris Hughton, making 18 appearances so far this term and finding the back of the net against Brentford in December.

He signed a new long-term deal at the club last year, which will keep him at the City Ground until 2024.

However, he has regularly been the subject of speculation, with the Premier League Clarets having followed him for some time.
