Nottingham Forest face competition for Aro Muric despite Manchester City demand

Nottingham Forest reportedly face competition from Championship rivals Preston North End for the signature of Manchester City goalkeeper Aro Muric.

The Reds are keen to sign the Kosovo international on loan - but the Sun report Preston are also keen on a move, having had Lukas Nmecha and Brandon Barker on loan from City last season.

Muric, 20, was Pep Guardiola's second-choice keeper last season after Claudio Bravo suffered a season-ending injury in August.

Bravo is now fit again and Guardiola has been linked with at least two other keepers, all of which would push Muric further down the pecking order.

City are keen for him to go out on loan to gain experience, however the Sun say they want guarantees he will play regularly with 'hefty penalties' to be applied if not.

Forest had Costel Pantilimon as their first choice last season, the Romanian keeping 15 clean sheets.

City's demands are said to be giving Forest and Preston pause for thought.
