New Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton is said to be ultimately targeting a permanent transfer deal for Anthony Knockaert.
The Fulham midfielder is understood to be on the Reds' radar as Hughton looks to tweak the squad he inherited from Sabri Lamouchi.
And The Mirror report Hughton wants to bring Knockaert to the City Ground on loan initially, with a view to buying him from the London club.
Major Brazil boost
Gary Brazil has been promoted and signed a new long-term contract with Nottingham Forest.
Brazil had been Forest's academy manager but he will now serve as director of football development.
After recent turmoil around the first team set up with a change in manager, Brazil's promotion is a major boost for the club.
He has been a leading factor in the development of Forest's top young talent from Joe Worrall, Brennan Johnson and Alex Mighten, to the recently departed Matty Cash.
Reds set for Wilson disappointment
Forest and Derby have submitted formal loan offers to sign Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, but they are both set to miss out according to reports.
Yesterday it was reported the Reds are keen to bring in the Wales international on loan, with Welsh rivals Cardiff City and Swansea City also keen.
Now Football Insider claim the East Midlands rivals have made the first move with Liverpool looking to secure a multi-million pound loan fee for the 23-year-old.
However, Goal say Swansea are the favourites to land Wilson after former Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster enjoyed a brilliant spell there under Steve Cooper's guidance last season.
Keane tipped for new job
Roy Keane is among the bookies' favourites to be the next Salford City manager.
The League Two side sacked Graham Alexander this week despite an unbeaten start to the season, winning two games and drawing three.
They are hugely ambitious with the club owned by Keane's former Manchester United teammates Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs - meaning Keane would have to answer to them if he got the job.
Former Oldham manager Paul Scholes has taken charge of the team on a temporary basis.
Keane is second favourite to land the job with former United coach Warren Joyce leading the way.
