Nottingham Forest 'expected' to strike new transfer agreement

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'expected' to strike an agreement with Palmeiras for midfielder Danilo.

Forest are keen to add to their squad this winter, and are working on striking a deal for the 21-year-old but face competition from French side AS Monaco. The Reds have, however, tried to get ahead of the race by reportedly tabling an offer of close to €20million (£18m) for the midfielder.

Palmeiras said to want to receive between €20m-€25m (£17m-£22m) for their player. Danilo's former Palmeiras team mate Gustavo Scarpa became Steve Cooper's first winter signing, but the Reds are set to not stop there.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest are 'expected to confirm an agreement' with the Verdao. Danilo, who appears keen on a move to Europe, said last year: "I see myself as mature enough to be able to play in any competition in the world."

Reports in Brazil claimed that Palmeiras have identified two replacements after acknowledging that it will be difficult to keep hold of the talented star.
