Nottingham Forest expected to announce €2m signing today

Nottingham Forest are poised to confirm their second signing of the January transfer window, NottinghamshireLive understands.

Sabri Lamouchi's Reds will today complete the capture of Strasbourg striker Nuno da Costa after a fee was agreed with the French club for his services.

On Tuesday morning, reports in France revealed that the forward was close to completing his deal following a successful medical in Greece.

If all goes to plan he will be available for Saturday's clash with Birmingham City.

The Forest players will be enjoying a recovery day today following , allowing Lamouchi and his recruitment staff at the Nigel Doughty Academy to force the deal over the line.

Joe Lolley's winner has pushed the Reds to within just two points of the automatic promotion places with 17 games left to play.

And today, in a move that will only lift fan morale even higher, the club are poised to announce da Costa's deal with the fee believed to be in the region of €2m.

The signing will bring an end to Lamouchi long and drawn-out hunt for a striker to provide back-up to front man Lewis Grabban.

His quest to find such a player started in the summer with the signing of Wolves loanee Rafa Mir who failed to impress on Trentside before returning to Wolves and being shipped out to Spain.

da Costa will become Lamouchi's seventh permanent first-team signing of his City Ground tenure.
