‘DEEP BREATH’

Club Brugge managing director Devy Rigaux has been less than complimentary about reported Nottingham Forest target Mbaye Diagne.

The 28-year-old Senegalese striker is currently on loan with the Belgian club from Turkish giants Galatasaray, but has not played since November after falling out with manager Philippe Clement.

Newcastle United and Spurs have both taken this action, with English football suspended until at least April 30, with furloughed staff entitled to claim 80 percent of their monthly wage up to £2,500 from the Government’s job retention scheme.

So far, two of Nottingham Forest 's Championship rivals - Birmingham City and Leeds United - have asked players to accept wage deferrals for the next four months.

And, speaking ahead of a meeting between the PFA, Premier League and EFL today, PFA chief Gordon Taylor told the Press Association: “It’s not a time to be relaxing regulations on financial propriety when we have already had problems with Football League clubs such as Bury.”
