Nottingham Forest drop hint of potential injury boost ahead of crunch Leeds United clash

Nottingham Forest could have received a big injury boost ahead of their crunch clash with Leeds United at the weekend.

Just four points separate the two teams in the Championship table, with the Reds able to close that gap should they claim victory at the City Ground on Saturday.

Sabri Lamouchi’s men lost 2-1 at Birmingham City last time out, as a seven-match unbeaten league run came to an end.

They were without Samba Sow at St Andrew’s, with the midfielder missing out through a knee injury.

Sow has become a key player for Forest since making the move last summer.

And there is a positive sign that he might be back available to face the Whites.

The club tweeted a picture of the 30-year-old in training ahead of taking on Marcelo Bielsa’s side with the caption: “Preparing for the weekend.”

It got plenty of Reds fans excited at the prospect of him potentially being fit to face Leeds, who dropped to second place after losing 1-0 at home to Wigan Athletic.

Forest head coach Lamouchi had said of Sow’s injury: “He had a problem with his knee and we can’t play with players not at 100 percent.

“I don’t think it is serious. I hope it is not serious.

“I hope he will be ready for the next game.”
