Nottingham Forest drop hint about Anthony Knockaert's Reds future

Nottingham Forest have dropped a hint about Anthony Knockaert’s future at the City Ground.

The French winger played the last game of his initial loan spell from Fulham in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Preston North End.

His loan deal is due to expire on Thursday. When asked about Knockaert’s future after Saturday’s game, manager Chris Hughton was non-committal.

“We are very aware of that one,” he said. "We will certainly be taking that into consideration, but at the moment there is no update.”

But pictures published on the club website of the Reds players training today (Tuesday) ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie against Cardiff City include Knockaert, suggesting he could be poised to extend his loan spell.

The 29-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Reds since his arrival in October, scoring one goal which came in the 2-1 defeat at Norwich City last month.
