John Metgod departs Forest to take on international coaching role

John Metgod has left his role on the Forest board to make a return to the dugout as assistant coach of the United Arab Emirates national team.

The ex-Reds midfielder will  take up his new role on April 1.

“I have very much enjoyed my time at the club and I would like to wish Martin and the team the best of luck for the remainder of the season,” said Metgod.

Wigan Athletic chief comments on Forest 'target' Gavin Massey

Wigan Athletic executive chairman Darren Royle has commented on the situation regarding reported Nottingham Forest target Gavin Massey.

The Reds are rumoured to be chasing the midfielder, who has stalled on penning a contract extension at the DW Stadium with Wigan still in danger of relegation.

Reds received big fee for Jason Cummings loan deal with Peterborough

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed exactly how much it cost to take Jason Cummings on loan from Forest.

The Reds striker made the switch to London Road last summer and was due to spend the season there, but his deal was brought to an early end in January after he had fallen down the pecking order.

Speaking in a question and answer session on social media, MacAnthony detailed the amount spent on Cummings.

Could Vellios still have a future at Forest?

It is no secret that Martin O'Neill likes to have powerful strikers in his squad with Daryl Murphy the obvious example at present.

Nottingham Forest’s inconsistency has become something of a sticking point as the Championship season enters the final straight.

The fact the Reds have been without back-to-back wins since September has frequently been mentioned in recent weeks, as they have struggled to get back into the top six.

European Cup winner Garry Birtles, though, has urged the players to “ram that statistic down people’s throats” and prove there is no mental barrier to picking up successive victories.
