Sabri Lamouchi has done a good job managing his massive squad at Nottingham Forest.
Of course, he does not believe he has a massive squad in the first place.
The Frenchman made quick decisions on who had a future at the club and those who did not were told to train away from the first team.
Now, a few of those exiles have gone, with Daryl Murphy, Liam Bridcutt, Jason Cummings and Gboly Ariyibi all leaving last Monday.
It made sense to get rid of most of those players. They were nowhere near the first team.
I would have kept Murphy around though. Forest have just two strikers in the first team - Lewis Grabban and Rafa Mir.
For me, Mir is not good enough based on the evidence of his performances so far this season.
Murphy is no spring chicken, but he could do different things to Grabban and Mir well.
He can head the ball and he can hold it up. Players like that are valuable to have around the squad as option from the bench.
It's a good move for him to go to Bolton though. It's the perfect signing for them as they've got a load of kids in their squad, so they needed a wise old head in amongst them.
Getting Liam Bridcutt is good business too. I wasn't impressed by him at Forest, but he's done well at other clubs and he's been playing for Forest under-23s, so he's used to working with young players.
Cummings needed a move too. He did pretty well when he first signed, but he'd really lost his way and had two poor loan spells last season, at Peterborough and Luton respectively.
