Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane sets date for return from injury

Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane says he hopes to be back on the training ground in the next six weeks.

The centre-back has yet to feature for head coach Sabri Lamouchi this season after undergoing surgery on his back.

But he posted an update on social media, saying he is eager to return to action as soon as possible.

Alongside a picture of himself in the gym, Benalouane wrote: “Hello guys you are so many to ask me when I will come back. I’m working hard to get back as soon as possible.

“I will come back at the training ground in 6 weeks #workinprogress I miss you a lot @officialnffc.

“I can’t wait to be back at home at the City Ground.”

Lamouchi has previously said it was a blow to lose the 32-year-old for a number of months.

“It is a big loss for us as a player, as a man, as a leader,” the manager said.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ryan Yates has stepped up his return from injury, saying it should be “not long now” before he is back in the Garibaldi.

Joao Carvalho made his comeback from an ankle problem before the international break, while Tendayi Darikwa and Michael Hefele remain sidelined.
