Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane linked with another Premier League club

Another Premier League club are said to have taken an interest in Nottingham Forest defender Yohan Benalouane.

The 31-year-old, who became Martin O’Neill’s first signing as Reds boss when he joined in January, has already been linked with Cardiff City, as well as Leeds United.

And now Foot Mercato have added another name to his list of admirers.

Why Yohan Benalouane will be happy at Nottingham Forest as long as 'the mayonnaise is good'

The French outlet claim West Ham United are keen on Benalouane, adding that the centre-back could leave the City Ground before the end of his 18-month contract, which expires in the summer of 2020.

The Tunisian has quickly settled into life at Forest, since joining from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

He has become a key part of the back four, establishing a promising central defensive partnership with fellow new arrival Alexander Milosevic, and has made 10 appearances for the Reds.

He will also go down in folklore for grabbing the winner against arch-rivals Derby County at the City Ground last month, and has spoken of his pride at wearing the Garibaldi.

“For me, this is one of the best clubs in England and it deserves to be back in the Premier League. We have to make that happen,” Benalouane said.

“I am really proud to be here; I am really happy.

"That is why I want to grow with this team and with this club.”

West Ham are currently ninth in the Premier League, while Cardiff are in danger of dropping out of the top-flight and Leeds could be heading in the opposite direction, sitting third in the Championship.
