Nottingham Forest have announced centre-back Alexander Milosevic “has left the club by mutual consent”.
The 27-year-old had fallen down the pecking order this season under head coach Sabri Lamouchi, with the club having strengthened their defensive options through Spaniard Chema in the summer.
Milosevic was included on the bench in the 5-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Arsenal last month, but failed to get on the pitch and has not made a single appearance in the Garibaldi this term.
The former AIK Solna man featured 12 times last season and scored one goal - in the 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough in April - after putting pen to paper for the club in February.
Joe Worrall and Michael Dawson have been first-choice central defenders since Lamouchi took charge, with Chema and Tobias Figueiredo having got their chance while Dawson has been sidelined.

The Reds also have Yohan Benalouane and Michael Hefele on their books, though both are also currently ruled out through injury.
Given his lack of game time, it was expected Milosevic might leave the City Ground in January, but his departure more than two months before the transfer window opens comes as a surprise.
Announcing Milosevic’s exit, Forest said: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that defender Alex Milosevic has left the club by mutual consent.
“The Swedish centre back joined the club in February 2019 and made 12 appearances for the club, scoring once.
“The club would like to wish Alex the best of luck with his future career.”
