Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro has been linked with a return to his homeland of Portugal in the summer.
The left-back is said to be weighing up his options as his contract comes to an end, and could head elsewhere when the season finishes.
Ribeiro joined the Reds from Benfica in the summer of 2019. The length of his deal was not disclosed at the time but is believed to be due to run out this year.
Although previously a first-team regular, there was speculation about his future in the summer and he has been in and out of the team under Chris Hughton.
Portuguese newspaper Record say Ribeiro’s “stint at Nottingham Forest should end at the end of the season”.
The report adds the 24-year-old “has been receiving approaches from several countries, including Portugal” and he “intends to enter a first division” side.
Ribeiro has featured 22 times for Forest so far this season, with Hughton switching between the Portuguese and Gaetan Bong on the left of the defence.
The Reds also have Tyler Blackett, who is capable of filling that position, on the books. And they have Nicholas Ioannou, who is spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Aris Thessaloniki.
Ribeiro is one of several players whose contracts are set to run out, along with loan players who will return to their parent clubs.
Boss Hughton has said of the transfer window: “We have loan players and players who are out of contract. Whichever way we look at it, it will have to be a busy summer.”
