Nottingham Forest defender leaves on loan after signing new long-term contract

Nottingham Forest defender Jordan Gabriel has linked up with Blackpool after signing a new long-term deal with the Reds.

The 22-year-old’s new contract at the City Ground will run until 2024.

For now, he has joined up with Blackpool and is set to go straight into the League One side’s squad for Saturday’s home clash with Lincoln City.

Gabriel could come up against another Reds youngster in Brennan Johnson, who recently joined Lincoln on loan for the rest of the season.

Gabriel, who had a loan spell at Scunthorpe United last season, has featured in two Reds games this season.

Blackpool manager Neil Critchley said: "He brings healthy competition to the defensive third of the pitch.”
