Nottingham Forest defender joins Italian club ahead of new season

Nicholas Ioannou has left Nottingham Forest, joining Serie B side Como 1907 on a season-long loan deal.

The Cyprus international joined the Reds from APOEL last September, shortly before Sabri Lamouchi was relieved of his duties at the City Ground.

The 25-year-old made just five appearances for the Reds last term, with the last being in a 1-1 draw at Luton Town on October 28 when he was shown a straight red card.

Ioannou joined Aris Thessaloniki on loan in January, making ten appearances and scoring one goal for the Greek side over the second half of the season.

A Forest statement said: “Everybody at Nottingham Forest wishes Nicholas well during his stay in Italy.”
