Nottingham Forest defender 'handed trial' to impress Sabri Lamouchi at Cardiff City

Nottingham Forest defender Osa Solomon has reportedly been handed a trial with Championship side Cardiff City.

The move would see the 19-year-old link up with former Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi, who took over at the Bluebirds in January. The Welsh club are currently hovering just above the bottom three in 21st place.

Lamouchi was in charge at the City Ground for just over a year before being sacked in October 2020 after a disastrous start to the season. He then moved to Qatari side Al-Duhali before moving to Wales.

And Allnigeriasoccer.com report that Solomon is set for a trial with Lamouchi's side from Tuesday, March 21, with a view to a permanent move during the summer transfer window. They claim that the trial will last for five days and will include a test game to decide whether he is offered a contract with the Bluebirds.

The report also claims that fellow Championship sides as well as League One teams are monitoring the situation but Cardiff have moved ahead by handing Solomon a trial. The teenager's contract at Forest expires at the end of the season and is reportedly not going to be renewed.

Solomon, who can play at centre-back and right-back, has mainly featured for the Reds youth team but has gained some experience in non-league football during a loan spell with Redditch United.
