Veteran defender Michael Dawson admits he is unsure what the future holds as his Nottingham Forest contract comes to an end.
The 37-year-old will not be offered a new playing deal by the Reds, although boss Chris Hughton has said the “door is always open” for him to take up a new role at the club.
There has been no word over whether Dawson plans to hang up his boots, however, or whether he will look to pursue his media work.
But regardless of what comes next, the centre-back says he reflects on his time in the game with pride - from coming up through the ranks at the City Ground, to winning the League Cup with Tottenham Hotspur and achieving promotion to the top-flight with Hull City.
Identity needed
Nottingham Forest great Brian Laws says his former club must develop an identity if they are to ever get to the Premier League.
Laws spent six years at the City Ground as a player before venturing into management with Scunthorpe, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley.
These days he is a co-commentator for BBC Radio Nottingham, watching regularly as Forest finished 17th in the Championship.
The former right-back says the club's problems on the pitch extend well beyond this season as he called for a period of consistency.
Garner latest
Bright spots for Nottingham Forest’s 2020/21 season were few and far between - but the loan of James Garner was certainly one.
The youngster arrived at the City Ground in January from Manchester United, having spent the first half of the campaign at Watford.
And he quickly made a big impression.
So what is the state of play at his parent club, and what are the chances of him being back at the City Ground in August? We got the lowdown from Dominic Booth, Manchester United writer for the Manchester Evening News.
Transfer twist
Striker Siriki Dembele, who was linked with Nottingham Forest earlier this year, faces being transfer listed by Peterborough United.
Posh director of football Barry Fry previously claimed the Reds wanted to sign the 24-year-old at the start of the season just gone, while rumours they were interested resurfaced in January.
Strengthening his attacking resources will be a priority for Forest boss Chris Hughton during the summer transfer window.
But if the club do look to Dembele again, Fry says it would take a “decent fee” to lure him away.
