Nottingham Forest defender 'back' on Premier League club's radar ahead of transfer window

Burnley could renew their interest in Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall in January, according to a national media journalist.

Worrall was regularly linked with the Premier League club over the summer, with the Reds believed to have knocked back several bids for the academy graduate.

In a discussion with a Burnley fan on Twitter about the Clarets’ January targets, Alan Nixon of The Sun said Worrall was back on manager Sean Dyche’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

As during the summer transfer window, Burnley’s pursuit of Worrall could hinge on whether the Clarets hold on to central defender James Tarkowski, who has been linked with a move away from Turf Moor.

The England centre-back has suggested he will not sign a new deal with Burnley, with his current contract due to expire in 2022.

Therefore, Dyche could be willing to cash in on the 28-year-old.

Tarkowski reportedly has a £50million release clause and was linked with Leicester City and West Ham United in the summer.
