Nottingham Forest defender adds to injury list as Sabri Lamouchi reflects on 'logical decision'

Injury latest

Nottingham Forest hope defender Yuri Ribeiro will be fit for a busy run of two games in the space of four days next week.

The Portuguese missed today’s trip to Bristol City after taking a knock to the knee in the Reds’ 1-0 win over arch-rivals Derby County before the international break.

Jack Robinson came into the starting line-up in Ribeiro’s place at left-back, for the only change to the XI which had beaten the Rams last time out.

Seeing red

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi has backed Ryan Yates to learn from the challenge which saw him red carded in the 0-0 draw at Bristol City.

Midfielder Yates was dismissed early in the second half for a two-footed tackle on Adam Nagy, leaving his team down to 10 men for more than half an hour at Ashton Gate.

Lamouchi had no complaints with referee Craig Pawson’s decision and was impressed with his team’s battling qualities as they came through a nervy finale to clinch a point.

“It was a logical decision,” he said of the sending off. “It wasn’t necessary to make that foul in that moment, there."

'Off the hook'

Lee Johnson admits his Bristol City struggled to cause Nottingham Forest enough problems in their goalless draw at Ashton Gate, and let the visitors off the hook.

Forest were forced to play much of the second half with 10 men after Ryan Yates’ red card for a lunge on Hungary midfielder Adam Nagy, but despite their pressure on dominance of the ball for long periods, the hosts failed to register a single shot on target in the 90 minutes.

Johnson, although frustrated by his side’s inability to break a resolute Forest down, gave Sabri Lamouchi’s men credit for their game plan in securing an eighth clean sheet of the season.

Transfer gossip

Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in teenage Marseille attacking midfielder Jores Rahou.

La Provence say the 16-year-old has "had discussions" with the Reds' head of international recruitment, Jose Anigo , while Bundesliga clubs Red Bull Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen have both "made enquiries" about the youngster.

Rahou, who has made two appearances for Marseille's reserve side, is said to be under contract at the French club until 2021.
